Adler School MCP: Art Therapy Student Shines!

friendsgiving_1Adler School’s Master of Counselling Psychology:Art Therapy (MCP: AT)¬†student Lauren O’Keefe recently got into the thanks-giving spirit spearheading the “Friendsgiving” event on campus.

An avid crafter and promoter of community events, Lauren in her role as MCP:Art Therapy Student Representative and in partnership with the Adler Student Association hosted a Thanksgiving themed potluck. Students were encouraged to bring either a dish or craft to share with their peers for the event.

Lauren, a budding environmentalist and long-time Pinterest user advertised for the collection of glass jars for an ‘up-cycling’ project. Up-cycling involves taking something old and recycling it into something new (and often beautiful!).¬† Students who attended the potluck had the opportunity to connect with each other and up-cycle their glass jars into Thanksgiving centre pieces and votive candle holders.

What a fun way to introduce a splash of creativity into a student event!
